Enough for All Creation”

Learn about the connections between climate change, migration and poverty in the U.S. and around the world. Come together with 1000 faith-based advocates and activists from across the United States in the nation’s capitol as we discuss the abundance of our world and how it can be allocated in a way that is fair and just for all peoples and all creation. A weekend of worship, workshops around track issues (e.g. Central America, Hunger, Peacemaking), and renowned speakers for plenary sessions will culminate in a chance to lobby on Capitol Hill with your representatives on Monday.

Our goal, through worship, theological reflection and opportunities for learning and witness, is to strengthen our Christian voice and to mobilize for advocacy on a wide variety of U.S. domestic and international policy issues.”

Special Program for Young Adults – Last year over 200 young adults, college students and seminarians attended, with more expected in 2009. This event will educate and empower young adults to speak out to their political leaders on policies that impact our world. There will be special times in the schedule for education, advocacy training, theological reflection, ecumenical engagement, and young adult fellowship and networking.

Conference will be held at the Hilton Alexandria Mark Center (hotel across the Potomac River from DC). Special conference room rate $109/night (+ tax). Early registration fee is $130 for students ($160 adult). Scholarships for up to 10 young adults (18-25) through the Fab Five Presbytery Partnership Group, to cover up to $500 of your cost (shared hotel room, travel, registration). Apply through Susquehanna Valley Presbytery Christian Nurture Team, chaired by Rev. Kristin Sundt (Ithaca, First). The Synod of the Northeast also has limited scholarship help for adults through PPAN (Public Policy Advocacy Network).
